2018:  Still Green After All These Years…and Staying That Way!
Being a green school means just that: everyone plays a part, it’s about the whole school.  The focus of this session was forward thinking, informing everyone that the following year would require SPMS to apply for green school re-certification and that this will be a school-wide priority.  Everyone was informed of the process and appealed to help in the process by providing the information of the inspiring green lessons and activities that they already implement and those that are planned.

The green school committee worked with the administration to establish a folder on the network to serve as the repository for all green school information.  This year, the training was divided by grade to have sessions with smaller groups.  The number of teachers participating in each rotation was conducive to conversation, in which they shared ideas about lessons and recalled information and lessons and checked the applicability to green school.  This reminder about green school was designed to facilitate the re-certification process, reignite everyone’s commitment to their role in the green school program, share ideas for the future, and acknowledge progress and accomplishments thus far.
